6,000 homes in Brisbane were flooded in January 2011 . Tzu Chi Australia (TCA) Brisbane office immediately mobilized volunteers to distribute living essentials and blankets. Its volunteers nationwide have also initiated various fundraising activities.
As of February 26th, TCA has distributed 2,801 cash cards of $500 each, 891 daily essentials packs, 1,538 medical kits, and 4,855 blankets to 2,437 affected families. Our volunteers contributed 1,746 days of their free time.
